Si bien apareci\u00f3 por primera vez en la d\u00e9cada del 60, el vidriado estructural ha crecido exponencialmente durante los \u00faltimos 20 a\u00f1os. En la actualidad es una vista familiar en las alturas y en otros edificios en las ciudades de todo el mundo.<\/p>\n<p>ASTM International ha participado en la investigaci\u00f3n y normalizaci\u00f3n del vidriado sellador estructural durante 30 a\u00f1os. El Comit\u00e9 C24 sobre Sellos y selladores en la construcci\u00f3n ha desarrollado 12 normas para este material. Estas incluyeron especificaciones, gu\u00edas y metodolog\u00edas de prueba para aspectos cr\u00edticos como asegurar la compatibilidad del sellador con los accesorios del sistema de vidriado, determinar las propiedades de adhesi\u00f3n ante tensi\u00f3n de un sellador y otras. Debido a que una de las principales cuestiones sobre el vidriado estructural en sus comienzos era, por supuesto, el hecho de tener enormes paneles de vidrio colgando en las construcciones sujetos por puntos de pegamento de 12 mm, las normas como \u00e9sta fueron, y siguen siendo, cruciales para permitir la aceptaci\u00f3n de esta tecnolog\u00eda en el mercado y entre el p\u00fablico.<\/p>\n<p>ASTM ha reunido recientemente estas 12 normas y trabajos de investigaci\u00f3n que datan de 1977 en una compilaci\u00f3n \u00abNormas y art\u00edculos t\u00e9cnicos de ASTM relacionados con el Vidriado estructural.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>En el sistema estructural, es <strong>la junta de silicona<\/strong> la que garantiza esta funci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Ventajas del sistema estructural<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Reducci\u00f3n del puente t\u00e9rmico. En las fachadas estructurales, el efecto del puente t\u00e9rmico queda reducido, al no estar el marco en contacto directo con el ambiente exterior.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Reducci\u00f3n del riesgo de rotura t\u00e9rmica. En los sistemas estructurales, toda la superficie v\u00edtrea queda expuesta a los efectos de la radiaci\u00f3n solar. Habr\u00e1 por tanto, una temperatura m\u00e1s uniforme, y el riesgo de rotura t\u00e9rmica del vidrio exterior ser\u00e1 mucho menor.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Reducci\u00f3n del puente ac\u00fastico. Al no estar en contacto con los bastidores, se aten\u00faa la transmisi\u00f3n del sonido en caso de vidrios de aislamiento ac\u00fastico.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Mayor resistencia a se\u00edsmos.
